Early Intervention Awareness Month
A month highlighting the importance of early intervention services for children from birth to age three with developmental delays or disabilities. Early intervention can significantly support autistic children's development across multiple domains.
History
Early intervention programs were established under Part C of IDEA. March awareness efforts have grown from state early intervention programs, IDEA parent advocacy organizations, and early childhood professionals.
How to Participate
- →Learn about Part C of IDEA and what early intervention services include
- →Know that you can refer your child for early intervention evaluation without a diagnosis
- →Understand that early intervention is free for eligible children under age three
- →Advocate for family-centered early intervention that respects parental values
